A quick look at a Blitz game

I hope everyone is having a good September, myself it has been good, started back to school for a Master’s Degree in American History, had my birthday, and I still have a little free time left to play some online chess and maybe review a game or two.

My wife bought me the second volume of the Kasparov on Kasparov books. I am still only a little bit through the first one and can’t wait to get to the second one.  These books combine two of my loves chess and history

I played a game today on Chess24.com, that I wanted to go over, I won the game but shouldn't have made many mistakes but in a blitz game anything can happen.

Not too sure why the games generated by Aquarium mess up the dark squares on the board. If anyone know how to fix this please let me know.

1-0 (chess24 online game | blitz) 2015.09.15
[#] 1.c4 As usual I open with the English and he responds with the symmetrical 1...c5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Nf3 Nc6 The mainline here i believe is 4.g3 I prefer the g3 line fianchetto the bishop 0-0 and control the A8- H1 diagonal

[4.d4 cxd4 5.Nxd4 e6 or g6 here can transpose into some of the Sicilian lines]
4...d5 5.Qc2 I would like to say this was a mouse slip but just flat out hung the pawn. I think taking is best
[5.cxd5 Nxd5 6.Bg2 and you go into a mainline good mainline postion for white]
5...e5 6.b3? just a bad move should have taken with the c pawn 6...d4 and now I get to take the knight on a tour of the board. After finding myself in this position I want to get the N to d2 and hopefully get him to overextend his Queenside pawns. 7.Nb5 a6 8.Na3 b5 He is ready to chase me but I need to clear out d2
[8...e4 9.Ng1 Bf5 and black is just flat out winning even on my level.]
9.d3 b4 10.Nb1 a5 11.Nbd2 he has a precarious queenside and my Knight is back to safety eyeing the e4 square. 11...a4 12.bxa4 Qa5 I think he is just trying to trade the Queens here, not to sure why, but here I feel I have gotten back to even and maybe a litte bit ahead. 13.a3 Qxa4 14.Qxa4 Rxa4 15.Bb2 bxa3 Here I had a choice to play Bxa3 or Rxa3. If I play rook takes then we swap out those pieces but if I play Bxa3 then maybe I can get the e5 pawn for free. (Houdini thinks this plan is terrible and I should go down -1.33) 16.Bxa3 Na5??
[16...Nb4 17.Kd1 Ng4 this is just bad for white, none of his pieces are working together and black is just cramping the position.]
17.Nxe5 my plan, as flawed as it was worked. Now i want to fianchetto the bishop and exchange knights on c6 and win the rook and the game. 17...Bd6 18.Bg2?? again I didn't look at all the pieces on the board. The Knight on a5 kills my plan, if he takes I just gifted him a piece. 18...O-O?? in a blitz game with lower ranked players you never know what is going to happen. I made a bad move then he made a worse bad move, now my plan should work. 19.Nc6 Nxc6 20.Bxc6 Ra6 21.Bb5 Ra5 22.O-O Ba6 23.Nb3 Rxb5 24.cxb5 Bxb5 25.Bxc5 Bxc5 26.Nxc5 Rc8 27.Rfc1 and he resigned. [1-0]
