First attempt at the Dutch

****Lets start today by saying Welcome Home Lebron, I’m really conflicted because I was upset the way you left but now the Cavs are much younger and have much better pieces to the puzzle and stand good chances of winning some titles for Ohio****

And now on to the Chess!!!

I have made an effort the last few weeks to actually cut down the number of games that I am playing. I usually play anywhere from 15-20 blitz standard OTB and/or CC games a week on various sites and through various organizations. I only plan on using my games that are 15/g or higher for analysis as I have more time for understanding the positions.

This weekend I should be able to travel to a tournament in Alabama, it only 2 ½ to 3 hour drive I may be a bit tired when I get there but I should be able to play four good games. Then next weekend I will be playing a tournament here in Pensacola. I am looking forward to both of these tournaments as I have only played in one tournament and I would really like to be able to get the required 2 games to get my USCF rating; currently 1056P after four games. The below game is a game I played the other day on FICS while waiting to go to work. I was very happy as I got to try out the Dutch defense, I want to learn the Leningrad but I went into a Stonewall type set up due to a quick Bg5.

As always please help me out with ideas and pointers in my strategy or things I many have missed.

[#] 1.d4 f5 I was happy I finally get to try the Dutch defese 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bg5 d5N Lost my nerve with the Leningrad played d6 to grab space in the middle plan on going e6 as soon as I can

[3...e6 4.Nbd2 (4.e3 d5 5.c4 c6 6.Nc3 Bd6 7.Bd3 O-O 8.O-O ...1-0, Atalik Suat 2541 - Schippan Bernd 2279 , Bad Wiessee 2003 It (open)) 4...Be7 5.Bxf6 Bxf6 6.e4 d5 7.exd5 exd5 8.Ne5 ...1-0, Illi Hans-Joerg 2172 - Walpen Peter 2033 , Zurich 2002 It (open)]
4.Bxf6 gxf6 5.Nc3 Nc6 6.e3 e6 I have bolstered both my isolated pawns and with the double pawns have good control of the e5 square 7.Qd2 Bb4 8.O-O-O Qd6 9.Qd3 Ne7 10.a3 Bxc3 11.Qxc3 c6 giving more protection to the d5 pawn and making the defense that much harder to break through since white has his light squared bishop. 12.b4 b5 13.Qb3 e5here i was planing on moving the knight to g6 then going in with e5 just got a little to egar.
[13...Ng6 14.Bd3 e5 15.dxe5 Nxe5 16.Nxe5 Qxe5This is the plan that i had just made the e5 move too soon ]
14.Qc3 e4 15.Qc5 I thought for a few minutes in this postion trying to decide if i should take the trade or keep the queens longer. I thought keeping the queens would be better for now 15...Qc7
[15...Qxc5 16.dxc5 exf3 17.gxf3 Kf7 18.Kb2 a5 19.Rd4 axb4 20.axb4 Be6 21.Be2 Ra4 22.f4 Rha8 23.Kc3 Ra2 24.Rb1 R2a3 25.Kd2 Rg8 26.Bh5 Ng6 27.Rg1 Ra2 28.Kd3 Rga8 29.Be2 R8a3 30.Kd2 Rb2 31.h3 Ra8 32.Kc3 Raa2 33.Rd2 Bd7 34.Bd3 (0:00:03) 21447kN 15.Qcc5 -3.25 Houdini 4 Pro x64]
16.Nd2 Ng6 during the game i was thinking i would go back f8 and then e6 chasing the queen from her perch. 17.g3 a5 Looking to get the a file open 18.Be2 axb4 19.axb4 Ra1 premature, needed much better cordination before making the attack. 20.Kb2 Ra4 21.Bh5 Qa7 22.Ra1 Qxc5 23.bxc5 Rb4 24.Kc3 Ra4 25.Rxa4 bxa4 26.Ra1 O-O 27.Bxg6 hxg6 28.Rxa4 Bb7 29.Nb3 offered a draw in this postion but my opponet chose to keep playing. 29...Ra8 30.Rxa8 Bxa8 31.Na5 Game drawn by mutual agreement. I thought we were pretty even he would have to move his knight several times to get into an attacking postion. Once the game was over and i loaded the game i saw that houdini had white ahead by a score of +5 [1/2-1/2]
